Colorado’s first craft brewery to cease manufacturing but continue to operate brewpub
Boulder Beer Company has decided to end full scale production to focus attention on their brewpub. Owner, Gina Day, said “[Their] friends will still be able to enjoy beers in the brewpub, and by brewing in small batches, [they will]have a wider variety of options on the ever-rotating specialty taps.”
Boulder Beer Co. will sell the majority of their equipment used primarily to produce product for distribution. New Mill Capital, a national asset acquisition and disposition firm, has been hired to sell the equipment assets via auction on December 4th.
The auction sale will be held exclusively online with bidding opening Wednesday, November 27th and closing on Wednesday, December 4th. Interested parties may inspect the assets by appointment or on open inspection days, December 2nd and 3rd.
Featured items within the auction include (27) fermenters and brite tanks ranging from 90BBL to 300BBL, a 2014 Palmer can filling line, a Krones bottling and label line, 2016 Hamrick drop case packer, 1,000+ kegs, and support equipment. Additional information can be found at www.newmillcapital.com
Boulder Beer Co. was founded in 1979 by a pair of astrophysics professors at the University of Colorado-Boulder. To celebrate their 40th Anniversary, Boulder Beer Company crafted a commemorative oak-aged Strong Golden Ale brewed with pineapple and champagne yeast. It was the last production batch brewed on the 50 BBL system that rolled out to the market. However, Boulder Beer Co. “looks forward to furthering their legacy in Boulder and the craft brewing industry” for years to come.
