Ale Asylum to Begin Asset Sale Process

Ale Asylum to Begin Asset Sale Process

New Mill Capital set to conduct October auction for brewery

Madison, WI – New Mill Capital, a national asset disposition firm has been engaged to sell the equipment assets of Ale Asylum, a successful Madison, WI based brewery. The company announced it would sell its equipment assets and transition its production and intellectual property earlier this week. New Mill Capital is scheduled to conduct the auction sale in mid-October.

After operating the 45,000 square foot brewery, restaurant, and brewpub since expanding and moving in 2012, Ale Asylum has decided to wind down operations at their location near Madison’s Dane County Airport due to rising operational costs. The company will continue to brew onsite up to the equipment sale with expectations of a production transition in October. Ale Asylum is open to the sale of the intellectual property and brewery as a going concern.

“Having seen a lot of microbreweries, I put this one up there with the best. Not only from an equipment standpoint but also the product.”, said Eric Weiler, Principal of New Mill Capital. “To consistently pump out 15,000-20,000 BBLs per year, you have to have great beer and they certainly do. Given the quality of the brewery and how meticulously it has been maintained, we expect a large amount of interest in the assets and will entertain offers in bulk for the operation as well.”

The auction sale will feature all late model, American fabricated Quality Tank Solutions brewing equipment featuring a 5-vessel 33 BBL Brewhouse, dozens of fermenters and brite tanks from 40 to 400 BBL, complete canning and bottling lines, a separator skid and all brewery support equipment.

“We all put our heart and soul into this brewery. This decision was necessary in order to ensure Ale Asylum beer will continue into the future”, said Otto Dilba, Co-Owner of Ale Asylum. “Current operating conditions are forcing a change of direction, but we look forward to seeing our product on shelves for years to come.”
